Our beautiful bride Lotte Drury kindly sent us in some stunning photos and a lovely story about her wedding. The bride looked stunning in her Suzanne Neville gown, perfect for her idylic English countryside wedding! You can really see the care and attention that went into every detail of Lotte and Mark’s wedding. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Here is Lotte’s story about her perfect day for you to read and enjoy..
After the wettest summer on record I was worried. Really worried. We were getting married in my parent’s field and I was picturing a Glastonbury mud-bath – all I could do was cross all fingers and toes and put ‘Bring wellies!’ on the invitation. Miraculously, the week before the weather turned – cornflower blue skies and beaming sunshine all day; we couldn’t believe our luck. The wedding was completely home-made by my amazing Mum! Swathes of homemade bunting, beautiful handcrafted favours, home-grown blooms in mismatched vases and a tea party fit for the queen – a blissful day full of pimms, prosecco and welly wanging (an age old West Country tradition). It started in a little church and moved to the field for the reception, and we spent our first night of wedded bliss in a yurt. Just as the guests left in the wee small hours it started pouring down – it was just perfect! I wore a Suzanne Neville dress, which was incredible and Mark wore a simple Ted Baker suit. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep the night before, and despite being petrified for the whole engagement of open mouth sobbing as I walked down the aisle (I had nightmares about it) I couldn’t believe how relaxed I felt on the day. It really was the best day ever!!
