1. What designers do you carry?

Our designers truly are the leaders of the industry and are the epitome of ultimate luxury. Every gown is made to order for each bride. We are proud to have a close, one-to-one relationship with each designer and work exclusively with them on your behalf.

The handpicked designers we represent comprise of some of the most prestigious in the world – each being the most high-ranking within their profession and style.

Caroline Castigliano – specialises in creating luxurious, bespoke bridal gowns characterised by their meticulous craftsmanship, innovative design, and the use of the finest fabrics. This is refined, luxurious fashion that caters to brides who desire a blend of traditional elegance with a modern twist.

Jesus Peiro – a prestigious bridal fashion brand renowned for its elegant, sophisticated designs that emphasise quality and craftsmanship, catering to brides seeking a blend of contemporary style with traditional bridal elegance. See the dresses.

2. How much will my dress cost?

Our dress prices range from £2000 to £5000. We can also provide payment plans on all new dresses.

Do think about the financing of your dress in advance of your appointment as this will help you focus when it comes to making your final decision. 

We do apply particular importance to the standard of the fitting of our gowns and therefore, make a charge for this. This charge is discussed at the time of fittings with you allocated seamstress when the right fitting package for you is recommended. We offer full made-to-measure service with a toile and/or standard fitting packages.

3. What will happen at my appointment?

Carina or a member of the stylist team will listen to all of your wedding hopes, anxieties and ideas, offering honest and caring advice. Taking all those wobbles away which you may have when searching for your dream dress. 

Our brides are found dresses that show their confidence and elegance. They are guided through each style of dress tried on form our curated collections. Helping brides with advice on colours, textures, as well as proportions and shapes that balance well on your figure. 

4. Do I have to pay for my appointment?

All our special one-to-one consultations are charged at £35. 

6. Can I bring children?

We truly adore little ones but please try not to bring them with you to your very special consultation. We want you to be able to soak up every moment for you – and for you not to feel distracted in any way from the enjoyment of the experience.

7. Will I be able to take photographs?

During your appointment, we kindly ask that you refrain from taking any photographs. This policy is in place not to limit your experience in any way, but to ensure the photographs capture the true beauty of the gowns.

8. Do you sell ex display dresses?

We do! Sample gowns, previously showcased as display dresses, offer an excellent opportunity to find your dream wedding dress at a reduced price. However, it’s worth noting that those of average height and wearing sizes 8-12 may find the best fit and selection of sample gowns.

All our sample gowns are of premium quality and excellent condition. Alteration packages are available to purchase. These sale gowns are paid in full at the time of purchase. If you want to invest in an ex display dress – you will of course still receive the excellent Carina Baverstock Couture experience that any other bride would. 

9. When should I order my dress?

Our bridal gowns are anything but ordinary. Unlike most fashion you buy from the high street, we specialise in exquisite, high-end designer gowns. Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, hand-cut and hand-finished by couture ateliers.

Given the personalised nature of our service and the exclusive craftsmanship involved, we advise ordering your dress ideally a good 12 months in advance of your wedding date. We can certainly help you if your wedding is less than a year away, but it can limit your choices.

Remember, we always have a superb selection of former display dresses (‘sample gowns’) that are always immediately available, pending any alterations you may require.

10. Fitting Appointment Do’s and Don’ts

We hope this guidance is helpful to you ahead of your fitting appointments.

1. First of all, breathe deeply and relax! Let us assure you that the first fit of your actual gown is to ‘perfect the fit’ – don’t expect it to be perfect yet, that is why you are with us, so that we can get it just right for you.

2. You are working with experienced, fully trained, in-house bridal fitters and couture level seamstresses who will ensure you have a beautifully fitted dress but please try to keep in mind the following advice:

– May we advise you just bring one or two special people such as your mum or bridesmaid as a second pair of eyes, preferably it should be the person dressing you on the day.

– UNDERWEAR and SHOES are essential for a 1st fitting and without them our fitters cannot do their job. Your fitter will discuss with you about underwear at your appointment.

– Your fitter will advise you to creating the perfect fit, ensuring you are comfortable as well as looking your best on your special day. We usually only require 2 fittings. A 3rd fitting can be provided but the less your dress is handled by our fitters, the more pristine it will remain and the fewer additional cost you will incur.

– Please kindly note, it’s really important that you arrive on time for your fittings. Unfortunately we cannot keep other client’s waiting, so if you are late, your appointment will need to be shorter. Thank you so much for your understanding.

11. Do you provide alterations?

Alterations come as part of our couture fittings service. Once your dress is purchased, we advise you book time out of your busy diary for a fittings appointment – this is the stage where your dress will be adjusted not just to fit you perfectly but to also take in to consideration any desired alterations you might like to see to the dress, ie, adding or removing sleeves, changing a neckline etc.

Our team of dress technicians are highly trained and expertly skilled couture standard seamstresses. They will work closely with you throughout this process, advising you on the right underwear and fit of you gown.

The fittings team will carefully press and professionally pack your gown all ready for collection ahead of your wedding day.

We completely understand the occasional anxieties associated with wedding planning and dress buying and are here to provide professional support and a friendly helping hand every step of the way. We strongly recommend booking these all important fittings appointments as soon as you have chosen your gown. We offer fittings appointments between Monday and Friday.
